1. Gameskraft challenges the Rs 21,000 crore tax notice by the GST Intelligence.
"Rummy has been held to be a ‘game of skill’ by several high courts and the Supreme Court, constituting 96 percent of the games played on its online platform".
2. DGGI initiates action against 15 real estate players in Kerala for GST fraud.
3. GST Council to meet before mid-November, tax on casino, online gaming on agenda.
4. GST offences up to Rs 5 crore may be decriminalised.
5. Rules set for jurisdiction:
? Both Centre and state officials can issue summons on GST issues.
? Whoever initiates the enforcement actions will be responsible for all consequent issues.
? Consequential actions involve appeal, review and adjudication.
6. The government is considering a Goods and Services Tax (GST) dispute settlement scheme offering a one-time opportunity for businesses to settle tax cases and avoid litigation, officials aware of the development said.
